Byanat, MEEZA, and Qatar Foundation via QRDI Council Sign Strategic R&D and Technology Innovation Partnership
Advancing AI First Data Centre Intelligence
Doha, Qatar, Monday 2 February 2026, Byanat, the AI first observability platform for digital infrastructure intelligence, announced the signing of a strategic research, development, and technology innovation partnership with MEEZA and Qatar Foundation, facilitated through the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council.
The collaboration brings together a uniquely integrated national ecosystem, combining a high-growth technology company, a national data centre operator, leading research and innovation institutions, and long-term capital, to lay the foundation for an AI first data centre operational intelligence built in Qatar, operated by MEEZA, and designed to scale globally.
The signing ceremony brought together senior leaders from across Qatar’s innovation ecosystem, including the full executive leadership team of MEEZA, Eng. Omar Ali Al Ansari, Secretary General of the QRDI Council, representatives from Qatar Development Bank (QDB) including Mr. Mohammed Al Emadi, Executive Director of Incubation & Venture Capital Investment as well as the co-founders of Byanat, Ahmed Alghadani, Chief Executive Officer, and Dr Ahmed Albadi, Chief AI Officer.
The collaboration reflects the strength of Qatar’s integrated innovation model, where government, national institutions, industry leaders, businesses, and long term capital work together to translate research and innovation into scalable, real-world impact.
Through this partnership, the parties will collaborate on building the foundation of an AI first data centre intelligence layer, developed in Qatar, operated by MEEZA, and designed to scale internationally. The initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Digital Agenda 2030, supporting Qatar’s ambitions in digital sovereignty, advanced infrastructure, and knowledge-based economic growth.
Ahmed Alghadani, Co-founder and CEO of Byanat, said:
“This collaboration represents a defining moment for how national digital infrastructure evolves. What we are building with MEEZA and QRDI is the foundation of an AI-first data-centre intelligence layer, built in Qatar, operated by MEEZA, and designed to scale globally. It is a clear example of how a cohesive ecosystem can turn research and innovation into platforms of international relevance.”
Dr. Ahmed Albadi, Co-founder and Chief AI Officer of Byanat, added:
“From an R&D and AI perspective, this partnership allows us to move beyond experimentation into applied, production grade innovation. By working closely with MEEZA and QRDI, we are designing AI native intelligence that is grounded in real operational data, governed by sovereign constraints, and built to scale. This is the kind of long term, research led innovation required to redefine how critical digital infrastructure is designed, operated, and evolved.”
Byanat’s work with MEEZA focuses on developing sovereign, on-premise intelligence capabilities that enhance operational efficiency, unlock deeper insight from existing infrastructure, and enable new, value driven digital services, without compromising data residency or national control.
The partnership is enabled through the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council, with the support of Qatar Foundation, reinforcing the country’s commitment to fostering an environment where innovation, applied research, and commercial execution converge. Together, QRDI and Qatar Foundation play a central role in translating national research and innovation priorities into scalable, real-world impact.
The presence of Qatar Development Bank at the signing further highlights the role of national investment in scaling high-potential technology companies and accelerating the commercialisation of innovation within Qatar and beyond.
The outcomes of this partnership are expected to contribute to the transformation of MEEZA from a leading data-centre operator into a defining force in AI enabled digital infrastructure, while positioning Qatar as a launchpad for sovereign, globally scalable technology platforms.
Byanat extends its appreciation to the leadership and teams of MEEZA QSTP, Qatar Foundation, QRDI Council, and Qatar Development Bank, and to all contributors whose collaboration and commitment made this milestone possible.
